REFLECTION ON LEARNING ACTIVITIES

I enjoyed reflecting on teaching as a profession or a vocation

I thank Stephen Downes for the introductory video which really set the floor for the importance of publishing educational resources for sharing our ideas. It is important for educators to know if materials used under fair use can be re-used and how to make the most of materials under creative commons without infringing laws while publishing over the net.

Digital Freedom has been very interesting, however though I agree that open source softwares are of great help to learners and to teachers who want to design educational website at no cost! (It does bridge opportunity divide!) However I would like to know more about socially responsible businesses! I can't help wonder...How are youth going to make a living out of their innovations if they only produce freewares?

Otherwise it was a very fruitful session, as it kept me thinking about issues which I believe are very important in today's world.

  1. You pinpoint out a very sensible question when you come to youngsters sharing innovative freewares . I myself wonder what would happen as everything is a business today and they should be able to earn a living also. Maybe they should share freely to some extent only and then for major issues ask for subscription with a minimum fee according to me.

    Kind regards
